Dog foster home made possible by adopted child? Sometimes our hurtful experiences make us want to inflict pain in others. But this doesn’t apply to this boy.
Robbie, a product of emotional and physical abuse has just been adopted in June of 2018. This was after having spent a couple of years in a foster home.
Having learned of his background, adoptive parents Charles and Maria knew that he would be hard to handle. However they were willing to do everything.
However, in Robbie’s first arrival, even with their utmost effort to make him feel accommodated, they still fell quite short. There was one thing that helped him to feel calm, though. It was the dogs.
Charles and Maria provides a dog foster home to few dogs as well. Pet adoption provided by rescue groups and shelters like the ASPCA gives a new starts for dogs (approximately to 1.6 million per year).
Kids and Pups Need Attention(Love)
In the following weeks, Robbie still has not shown any other emotion except to what he was most accustomed to – anger. But gradually, he changed because of his newfound buddies.
He told his mom one day that since he knows the feeling of not being loved, he doesn’t want his dogs to feel the same. He adds that usually, people only give attention and chance to kids and pups, but there are actually a lot more who need help.
The eight-year-old then began to raise awareness for the neglected and encouraged others to give them homes by doing the act himself.
When people learned of his advocacy, more support came in. One generous individual even sent him a book and an amount of $1000 to ensure his pooches get the best care.
Watching Robbie develop, Charles and Maria couldn’t help but feel proud. Now and then, they assure him that he has all their support in this endeavor.
But doubts in Robbie’s mind couldn’t easily be erased.
There was one time he talked about some people adopting kids and returning them to foster homes. Upon hearing this, Maria instantly guaranteed him that they do not give up on their humans or their animals.
We hope that statement gave him relief! We’re sure Maria meant it from the bottom of her heart. As she and her husband would not have made so much effort if they consider giving up as an option.
