Chained to the wall and neglected, dog is finally freed from her shackles? Viktor Larkhill learned about a dog that needed an immediate rescue.
She was chained to a wall all her life and living in deplorable conditions. The Smooth Fox Terrier was neglected by her owners and was left in their storage place to guard the area.
The small dog has never been shown any love by her owners and has been kept dirty and unkempt. On top of all these, the dog has a large mass growing out of her body.
Viktor drove for miles to the countryside to rescue the dog. And when he finally saw her, he was horrified. He couldn’t believe the conditions that the dog was living in. He was shocked even more when he learned that the owners never bothered to give the dog a name.
Maria is set Free
Viktor decided to change that, he gave the dog a name and called her Maria. At first, Maria was terrified of Viktor and ran away when he tried to get near. One look at her and you will see that she is not only scared, but she is terribly sad as well. You could see the lifetime of neglect and loneliness masking her face.
With some patient prodding, Maria eventually went closer to her rescuer. She allowed Viktor to pet her and rub her head. Maria liked the attention and affection that he was showing her. It was maybe the first time in her life that she was shown love. She would even wag her tail as Viktor would calmly talk to her and stroke her head.
When Viktor tried to check out the huge mass sticking out under her tail, Maria would whimper and cry in pain. She needed to be taken to a doctor. So Viktor set her free from her shackles, put her in a carrier, and went straight to a vet.
They brought her to the Hospital Veterinario Valencia Sur Intensive Care Unit, where she underwent a wide array of tests. The veterinarians said that her condition is serious, and she needs surgery.
Viktor is looking for help for maria. When they get the funds, Maria will undergo a life-saving operation and move on to a better life. But at least the dog is finally freed. Watch her rescue in the video below.
